Giftmas Rundown: "Aim for the head!"

After reading The Acrobatic Flea's review of Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game, I decided to ask for it for Giftmas, and may the Invisible Pink Unicorn be praised, I got it! With the Growing Hunger expansion.

I thought it was a lot of fun. The wife was less impressed. The board is roughly Monopoly-sized. I thought it was too small, until we started playing, and it seemed gigantic :-) Combat is rather Risk like, best roll wins, humans get an extra die, zombies win ties.

Well the zombies, played by the wife, won the day (er, night) by killing my farmer's daughter and ex-military short order cook inside of five rounds.

See the game's website here.

Phew! Glad you liked it! I got the expansion for Christmas, but have yet to get Rachel to play the basic game. She keeps saying she will, but then finding excuses to do something else :-)

The wife told me to not expect her to play too often. Then she found out what the whole package cost, so her frugality might make her look at cost-per-play ratios, even though it was not our money on the line :-)

The rules are a bit dodgy in places. We missed a few things, like fending off zombies, rather than killing with a blow. All in all it is great fun. Thanks for mentioning it.
