Finally Catching Up a Bit.

After a few brutal weeks at work, I am finally trying to get my blog reading caught up. I really should just to a "Mark All As Read," but there is no telling what gems I will miss.

Is it just me, or is it lazy of Google Reader to say "1000+" instead of the actual number? It is a computer, after all.

I think it would take more programming to get it to say "1000+" then it would just to get it to say the actual number. I wonder why they do that.

Wow - I have never had one folder equal 1000+. I have, after vacation, had them ALL total 1000+, but never way over 2000 like you have.

I never just hit "mark all as read", I just am too damn nosy.

And yeah, they already have the "+" there, so they could technically be showing you the exact number. Weird!

And good luck!

The "Blogs I'm following" part is pretty much the sum of the other folders. Not sure why it does that either.

I agree: that "1000+" is really irritating. I go over about 700-800 posts a day, so if I miss a day, I'm in unknown territory. Do I have 1100 things to skim over? or 5000? No way to tell... Am I making progress? No way to tell. And much as I hate to admit it, I do on occasion "mark all as read," though that's pretty much just news and politics.

@Rick - it must take more programming... if x > 1000 then covert to string and add a "+" :-)

@Wings - I knuckled under and hit "All Read" last night when I realized I was all the way back to the 17th.

@Lockwood - I do follow way too many blogs. It is a sickness. :-)
