Nerd Girl of Note #43

Not everyone loves her, but I do. Sarah Silverman is funny, period. Sure, the Matt Damon thing maybe went on a bit long, but it's hardly her fault that the media ran away with the thing (oh, Youtube. Were you ever so young?).

Want some nerd-cred? Other than doing a show with gay D&D playing roommates? Other than being a regular Tweeter? Other than that she dresses like an eleven year-old boy? Okey, here goes. She's a Star Trek alum. That's right. The Big S appeared in a special two episode ST:VOY entitled "Future's End" (season 3). If being in Star Trek ain't nerd cred, then I don't think I know what is anymore.

Well I am on of those that loves her. She is very funny and very cute. I'd never seen that picture of her in the Batman shirt before but that just makes me like her even more.

The character she played Star Trek character also appears in one of the Eugenics Wars Novels about the rise of Khan. Granted, you don't really get much Sarah Silverman in the book but I thought it was interesting that her character had enough of an impact to be included in one of the novels.

Yeah, I like here too. She's not afraid to let it all hang out. Her Comedy Central show is pretty damn funny too. And she's cute as hell. I too had not seen that Batman T-shirt pic either. Nice.

I think the Batman shirt was from a "Stars at ComicCon" article. Should have sourced it, but I am often lazy ;-)

Oh I adore her. More sexy and dirty than any woman has the right to be and funny in a way that you would worry about what she was gonna say around the Christmas table about you to your mother. I love that in a girl. Her TV show was a riot and 'I'm Fucking Matt Damon' was THE viral video of last year. Good choice brother Darius.

That bottom picture is from the Independent Spirit Awards show. I won't describe what she's doing, but imagine her with a mustache and goatee and you'll get the picture. It killed me. That award show was what made me fall in love. She was really rubbing it in how un-independent the awards were. She was pissing a lot of people off, and I love that.

I like her, but it's definitely true that other people don't, and I'm not totally sure why. I remember simply mentioning that I thought she looked cute when she appeared on Bill Maher's show, and two people commented that they found her annoying.

By the way, are she and Jimmy Kimmel still together or not?

@Dr. Monkey - Watched the Cookie Party/Doodie episode tonight. She kills me.

@Nathan - I don't think she's with Kimmel any more.

Then does that mean I have a chance with her? {g}

Darius Whiteplume said...

That depends, Nathan, can you further her career? [burn]

Sorry, they kept making that joke at the Pam Anderson Roast :-)

Sarah Silverman is one of those girls who "Can" be funny, but more often than not, is not.

She is one of those comic geniuses who has no discipline, nor anyone around her to direct her creative flow.

As a result, she is Billy Mummy in "It's a Good Life." She has the power, but everyone is afraid of molding her to use it effectively.

In a few years, when it come a little harder, she is going to wonder where all her fans are. They will have grown up and she will have nothing to show.

@Lacey - I can see that. She reminds me of Sandra Bernhard, only with dick and fart jokes. I think some of her cleverness gets muddled by the songs about poop. I can certainly see a Robin Williams-like potential for becoming a parody of herself.
