Halloween Challenge #5

The Killer Inside Me is one of my favorite books, and I had high hopes for the film. Unfortunately it falls flat. If I were to completely separate it from the book, it is not terrible until the end. They had, apparently, no idea how to end it. I can suspend disbelief to a high degree, but when it is as bad as this it ruins the whole film. I don't want to talk anybody out of seeing it, but be warned about the ending.

Now, as for the horror goes, it is quite horrific at times. Those times are few and far between, but when they come they are severe. It borders on torture porn, save that it is almost all weaponless killing, which makes more disturbing than a knife wielding maniac.

Verdict: Take it with a grain of salt if you want to see it.

dang. I love the book by Thompson and was looking forward to this but was curious how it would translate to film.

guess it gets added to the bottomless netfliks queue.

It has its moments to be sure. If you are a spanking fan, then Alba and Hudson, plus another small-role chick, get quick rosy cheeked ;-) It could have been very good if they had ended it better. The last fifteen minutes... Ugh.
