Nerd Girl of Note #104

While only appearing in one of Russ Meyer's films, Up!, Raven de la Croix is one of Uncle Russ' most iconic figures, and yes that is a double entendre. In Up! she plays Margot Winchester, a new comer in a small town where a mysterious murder has occurred, and the victim is one of Meyer's favorite bad guys, Adolf Hitler.

Like quite a few of Meyer's actresses, de la Croix exceeds what you might expect of someone sought initially for her measurements. I'm not saying she should have received an Oscar for Up!, but she delivered a fine performance. She is also quite enjoyable in the not-so-great Meyer-styled The Double-D Avenger, where she plays a doctor and has some of the better comedic lines.

Aside from film and television work, de la Croix is noted as being "The Burlesque Queen of the '80's" - a role she often filled in films, such as Loose Screws, and appeared in numerous men's magazines such as Oui, Cheri, and Iron Horse. You can see her web page here.
