Nerd Girl of Note #115 - Asia Argento

Daughter of horror auteur Dario Argento and actress Daria Nicolodi (Suspiria, Mother of Tears), Asia is quite the force in European horror herself. She was a rather troubled child, according to her Wikipedia bio, and ran away from home at age fourteen and was reportedly friendless. She wrote the film Scarlet Diva as a biopic of sorts, telling the tale of an actress desired only for her sex appeal. She has also appeared in Romero's Land of the Dead, Marie Antoinette, and her father's Mother of Tears, and The Stendhal Syndrome, among other films dating back to 1986.

Most recently I saw Boarding Gate (streams on Netflix) which has Argento as a maybe prostitute, maybe drug smuggler, who murders her lover (client?) and has to flee to Hong Kong. She is unwittingly involved in some international naughtiness and has to flee for her life. It is an interesting film, though be warned, there is no real sense of closure. If that is your thing you might be disappointed, but if you like an moderately erotic character story with some violence added in you should be pleased.

Didn't her father film a rape scene with her or did get her violently killed... or both?
I think I read that in an interview.
Well, I always found that odd.

I could see that. Dario Argento is all horror.

@TRT - dirty is good :-)

@Drunketh - agreed, though American film might be too tame. ;-)

I did fall asleep on it, but that was my fault. I liked the ending, despite the lack of closure.
