The Song(s) Stuck in My Head: Tears for Fears

One of the best bands from the '80s, IMHO

I love the line, "it's hard to be a man when there's a gun in your hand." Not just a pacifist message. I think it means you don't have to be brave, strong, or virile when you have an "equalizer." I'm not anti-gun, per se, anti-crazy ass guns perhaps.

Mad World was always my fave...even before Donnie Darko.

Thanks for sending me on a nostalgic little trip in the way back machine...

I liked their Beatles rip "Seeds of Love", an early one "Pale Shelter".

Wasn't "Head Over Heals" in Donnie Darko - and not "Mad World"? Or maybe both. Or maybe I'm just tired and need some sleep/methamphetamines.

I was trying to remember "Seeds of Love" - it is very Beatles, but who can help being influenced by them?

I never saw Donnie Darko. I guess I should rent it.

YOU NEVER SAW DONNIE DARKO???? your self a favor and rent it. I would be interested to hear what you think. It is one of those films that define 'cult status' people either love it or hate it..I like to think that people who are deep thinkers like you and I 'get it'.

And my favorite Tears For Fears song is 'Woman in Chains'. Its got that tragic orchestration and you I like the video very much.

Am I a deep thinker because I have a Head Like a Hole? (keeping things musical :-)

I am weird about movies. I was just saying on another blog that I have never seen: Top Gun, Footloose, or E.T.

I will have to check out D.D. I'll watch anything with Jerry Trainor in it (just kidding, picked a random name from the cast list).

OMG..I have never seen ET about separated at birth..that is hilarious. I refuse to see it just cause everyone else has. Tried to do the same with Titanic but it was on TV one night and the internet was down and I was given too many rum toddies.

I am not sure why I never saw it, but since I have gone so long, I make it a point of pride to avoid it :-)
