I've been watching them "in order" lately and that cry evolved over the course of the episodes from no cry at all, to just the "aaaaaaahhh" part somewhere in the middle or so of the first season, to the "aaaaaaaaaah-hee!" near the end of the first.
Yeah, I'm a nerd, I know. No need to point it out.

I guess they needed a battle cry of some sort. Just saying "demon dogs!", "lords of light!" and "Ariel, Ookla, we ride!" wasn't good enough.
