I never really dug Dr. McCoy until Karl Urban played him in the reboot movie. Now I like him all round, looking at Deforest Kelly's portrayal in a new light. So, when presented with an Amazon giftcard, I knew what I wanted. The 12" McCoy from Playmates.

Bones is my favorite character! I had a 12" Mego figure when I was a kid. I love his old school grumpiness in a sci-fi setting!
@Atom Kid - He's my fav now. I love the "Shore Leave" episode where he's putting out game on young Yeoman Barrows. ;-)
Urban's performance was spot on and I also garnered a much deeper appreciation of the character after seeing the movie for the first time. Also, like you I needed to pick up the 12" McCoy figure. I have yet to pick up the Kirk figure, so far just Spock and McCoy, my two favorite performances in the film, funny how that works.
This the only 12" I plan to get. Like you, I hope to go on a toy hiatus. I would have been happy with the little McCoy except that he was "Cadet McCoy" — WTF? One of the three main characters, and he doesn't get his command uniform? SHAME! :-D
Now, if someone makes a Dr. Sheldon Cooper as Mr. Spock, I am so there :-D
