I never watched Bones until it started appearing in syndication. Deschanel's dry wit is very cutting and she has a miraculous deadpan delivery which is always snort inducing. Here is a favorite exchange (paraphrased) between Bones and and Booth (David Boreanaz, of Angel fame) when investigating a rash of pregnancies at a high school:
Booth: "Don't they teach Sex-Ed at this school?"
Bones: "If they do then there are serious gaps in the curriculum."
It's not that funny on "paper" but is great with her delivery.
So, if you haven't watched Bones, give it a try. I like it, and remember, I hate cop shows.

I love Bones =] It's funny and cute and has David Boreanaz in it which is always a good time.
Have you seen the episode with Zoey playing Bones' cousin? Hehe lots of awesome going on
I am not a Bones watcher, though a friend has sort of introduced me to it.
I may have to give it another go!
Rock on!
& Happy New Years!
@Pennie - I have not seen that one yet, but hear it was fun.
@Rex - My only real problem with Bones is that everyone does everything - just like CSI. But then, how many characters can you really have on a 1hr show.
Love the Wonder Woman costume!
Happy New Year!
bones - rocks - wonder woman - rocks the two together... heaven!
Never watched a single episode of Bones, but she would be a great reason to!

I really enjoy Bones but it is never on at a convenient time for me to watch. I am occasionally able to find the time to watch the show online though. Emily does such a great job as Bones, she has a wonderful deadpan delivery. It also doesn't hurt that she is very beautiful.
This is one of the best shows on TV right now for a number of reasons.
First, they have avoided the "Hey, lets go dark" route that so many other shows have taken. Hollywood is populated by bitter, light talented, boys who think that the only entertainment is "but what if he gets killed" entertainment. At a time when the next knock on the door may be from Uncle Sam saying "We regret to inform you," this type of entertainment plays thin.
Not that Bones is a puff show. It has successfully managed to flesh out its cast through the years. while maintaining its entertainment value.
Oddly enough, at a time when the Entertainment Industry strives to cut it self off from western traditions, Bones' best shows, for character development, have been it Christmas shows.
@Lacey - I love that they make her a pretty staunch Atheist; not just because that is my way, but because it is unusual to see one on tv. One was on last night where Boothe asked Bones what she believed in. She said "always swim with a buddy." :-)
